PRESIDENT The President shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Organization and, as such, shall have general supervision, direction and control of the business and affairs of the Organization, subject to the control of the Board of Directors, shall preside at meetings of members and shall have such other functions, authority and duties as customarily appertain to the office of the chief executive of a business organization or as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors. (The President sets the vision and goals for the calendar year with consensus from the BOD, sets and manages BOD agendas and meetings and ensures action items are resolved).
VICE PRESIDENT Each Vice President shall perform such duties and have such other powers as may from time to time be prescribed by the Board of Directors or the President. (The VP supports the President in driving the President's annual vision, helps manage obstacles and challenges)
TREASURER The Treasurer shall have the custody of the corporate funds and securities and shall keep current and accurate accounts of receipts and disbursements in records belonging to the Organization and shall deposit all moneys and other valuable effects in the name, and to the credit, of the Organization in such depositories as may be designated by the Board of Directors. The Treasurer shall disburse the funds of the Organization as may be ordered by the Board of Directors, and shall render to the President and the Board of Directors, at its regular meetings or when the Board of Directors so requires, an account of all transactions as Treasurer and of the financial condition of the Organization. The Treasurer shall perform such other duties as may from time to time be prescribed by the Board of Directors, or the President. (The Treasurer handles 'all things financial' and is responsible for regular and consistent reporting of financial status to the BOD and Members)
SECRETARY The Secretary shall keep a record of all proceedings of the members of the Organization and of the Board of Directors and shall perform like duties for the standing committees when required. The Secretary shall give, or cause to be given, notice, if any, of all meetings of the membership and shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors or the President, or these By-Laws. The Secretary shall have custody of the corporate seal of the Organization and the Secretary, or in the absence of the Secretary any Assistant Secretary, shall have authority to affix the same to any instrument requiring it, and when so affixed it may be attested by the signature of the Secretary or an Assistant Secretary. The Board of Directors may give general authority to any other officer to affix the seal of the Organization and to attest such affixing of the seal. (The Secretary takes meeting notes, distributes notes, collects and manages action items and progress, and updates By-Laws when votes are made)
PROMOTIONS/SPONSORSHIP COORDINATOR (AMBASSADOR) The Promotions (Sponsorship) Coordinator is the powerhouse behind procuring awareness and sponsorship for the club, its events (Rover Rendezvous-raffles), and is often the club representative for all PR in coordination with the Social Media Coordinator.
TRIP/TRAIL MASTER The Trail Master is responsible for ensuring the annual Trip Calendar is full. This includes a lot of recruiting of Trail Leaders, training, policy direction, and coordination with the Trail Leaders to ensure trail runs are safe, organized, and deliver value to the membership.
SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR The SMC is the face of the club, digitally. The is a role that requires a high level of commitment and creativity. This role supports and often leads the communication efforts of the BOD to ensure any and all messaging is created in an impactful and creative way, across multiple platforms. Must be functionally competent with at least Facebook, Instagram, and email services. Beyond functional competency, this role requires current knowledge of best practices for the various social media platforms.
