Southern California Rover Club

2025 Board of Directors

Adam Spiker, President

I like to have my windows down. Being in the lead means no dust. Also, there’s that part about inspiring others who may be less experienced to push their limits just a bit and teaching them how to. I enjoy showing how the amazing technology of their vehicles—specifically terrain response—can literally make the experience stressless, effortless, and much more enjoyable. As well, you just can’t beat the camaraderie of the other Trail Leaders. The time we spend together, either online planning or on trail making memories, the moments are so rich.

I was fortunate enough to be a part of the club back in the heydays of 2005-2008 when the club was on fire, lots of people who loved the same things and clearly had passion. I was again fortunate enough to be apart of the most recent rebirth of the club. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes we’re seeing so many people longing for something that the club happens to satisfy. I love being a part of someone else making lifetime memories.

Don Fansler, Vice President

My favorite part about being a trail leader is taking people places they have never been before and seeing them as excited about the place and the experience as I was when I first went there. Southern California has some of the best off roading there is and it's all right here in our backyard. I look forward to every trip and will do what it takes to ensure everyone gets through the trail safely and has a good time.

Being involved in Rovers is my son Kier's fault. I was a 2-wheel guy for a long time and was thinking about getting back out there in 4 wheels. My Son Kier talked me into getting a D2 and the rest is history. I was and am a member of the San Diego club and the guys here asked me to come onboard the SoCal Club and be a part of the trail leader team. I am so happy they talked me into it, you know who you are, and I thank you. The SoCal Rover Club has an awesome group of members and I have enjoyed getting to know everyone I have met. See you on the trails!

Jackie Sakadjian, Treasurer

I have been a club member for many years, my parents and Uncle were members back when the club started for several years. As I grew older, I started to own Land Rovers and become part of the club. I have been to several events, I own the Green Machine AKA Dark Green P38. I am the President of JS & TS Consulting we specialize in Tax Preparation and Financial Services. I have decided to bring my talents from my professional world to the club as treasurer. Thank you for your confidence, I will see you on the trails!

Nadir Elfarra, Secretary

Served as SCRC Secretary for 2024. Have prior BOD experience in both corporate and non-profit organizations. I became an SCRC Trail Leader in 2024.

Jerry Sanfilippo, Trail Master

I took up running trails 20+ years ago, and still am as enthusiastic about this off-road journey as the first time I went out. I consider myself a lifetime student and will always continue to grow and learn. I started leading trails in 2006 for the San Diego club and was President 2 terms. I joined then SCLR in 2007 and started leading trails for SCLR in 2008 and haven’t looked back. I became your humble Trail Master in 2020 to this present day and still enjoy being very active in our club.

There is a real joy to bringing adventure and education to membership, along with the coolest brand in the automobile industry. I'm proud to be part of a trail team that I would boast to be the best anywhere. The camaraderie amongst the Rover community is second to none! I feel at home here.

Laura Spencer, Social Media

I bought my P38 during Covid so I could take my paddleboard to the beach. A misfire issue connected me to Ed Testa, and the club, and the rest, as they say, is history. I'm now four Rovers into this off-roading world and grateful every day to live so close to majestic BLM land, both desert and mountain! As a new trail leader, I'm excited to explore with others and share some of the beautiful places I've found on weekend adventures.

Being a member of the So Cal Rover Club not only allowed me to connect with fellow off-road enthusiasts but also played a pivotal role in honing my off-roading skills and understanding the intricacies of maintaining my Rover. The trail leaders and board members welcomed me with open arms, offering guidance and sharing their expertise, which greatly contributed to my growth as an off-roader and a Rover enthusiast. Their acceptance and mentorship have been invaluable in my journey within the club.

BOD Appointed POSITIONS

Ed Testa, Membership & Training

A veteran to the club, I've taken on a new position from President to work directly with, for, and in service of the members. My focus in 2025 will be on member training for topics such as trail communications, vehicle dynamics and maintenance and so much more. All the topics which people don't often have access to but are eager to learn which further enhances their enjoyment of their vehicle and membership experience.

Keith McFatridge, Sponsorship Coordinator

Keith is a long-time member of the club (his original member number is below 500!). He's a veteran off-roader and servant trail host. He's an avid outdoorsman who loves the club, adventure, and the people in the club who make it such a rewarding experience.
