Truck Requirements

This is a difficult trail.  Rock sliders are REQUIRED.  All Terrain or Mud Terrain tires are REQUIRED - No street tires.  High clearance is REQUIRED.  Lockers are REQUIRED.  Winch not required as trail leads will have winch for recovery and help over waterfall sections if needed.

Route Type/Miles

Gold Mountain is one of the more difficult trails in the Big Bear area.  Although it us just 4.5 miles long, it will take every ounce of effort and energy to drive for several hours (2+) to make it through the waterfalls climbs / obstacles and avoid sharp rocks along the way.  There is a gatekeeper at the beginning of the trail that has no bypass.  So, you must be able to make it through the gatekeeper unassisted (no winch).

Camping

This trail is part of the Rover Rendezvous event.

Avg. Temps.

It will be cool and comfortable in Big Bear.
