Trail Leaders: Tim Jones/Nadir
Meeting Time: 8:45 Depart-8:55
Meeting Place: Staging Area
Description:
This is a nice little canyon trail that takes you into the Bighorn Mountain Wilderness. As an OHV trail, it is generally considered to be easy and fun with only a few technical spots. These areas are rocky sections and a few tight turns that might make this route more challenging for longer vehicles, especially as you get deeper into the trail system. Route may be run South to North for RRXXIII but this description is running it North to South. We'll join the 3N03 trail off the 18, East of Baldwin Lake. There is a tipsy drop down, moderate articulation. Total trail length is about 15mi. We'll cut off of the 3N03 about halfway down and start the return to camp from the 2N02, Northwesterly. The trail is mostly easy but some sections offer articulation, low traction, some steep though short sections so this is why we added the "moderate" caveat to the rating. BYO Lunch on the trail, bring chairs and shade.
Requirements:
This is not a training trail so some trail experience and knowledge of your vehicle are necessary.
